When Raffaele Foglia, on June 20 th 2003, writes an article on the newspaper “La Provincia” of Como, that concerns the strange sketch appeared in the fields of Carimate (for the article see the PDF version of this document), the news is in public knowledge, and the crop is no more existing. The photos remain (see PDF version), taken by Giorgio Pastore and Christian Civati, founders of the “C.R.O.P.” who have gone just in time on the place (May 11th) to make some surveys. We quote therefore their report on the case.
The man with white hair and slow footstep, stopped himself next to that field of wheat and opened wide his eyes: he had never noticed that strangeness before, even if passing there every day. It means that the “thing” was born the evening before; but who made it? The comment of the man was just this: “In these times it is hard to understand!”
This is the account that the C.R.O.P. (Operational Center of Searches on the Paranormal) has gotten by an inhabitant of Carimate, when the morning of May 11 th 2003, a damp Sunday, thanks to the signaling of some friends of the G.P.M. (Para-psicologist Marianese Group), is gone in the place where a crop circle seems to be risen by nothing. [...] In effects, we know of few Italian crops, and this one should be the seventh one, but it is now fading away very quickly, because of a torrential rain and strong wind that have struck in the zone the days following its appearance. [...] The sketch in the wheat was comprehensible only when eventually view from above, but because of the bad time, and also because it is not easy to rent an airplane cheaply in so brief time, has not been possible to overfly the zone. [...] So now remain only the photos taken by the ground and some analyzable samples of ears. “We have tried to warn somebody else with more experience than us, but we did not receive any answer…” [...] Anyway, the crop circle extended itself (traces of it are still visible) in length as a snake, for at least 600 meters, passing through two fields, therefore it was very wide. Giorgio Pastore, while analyzing the zone, had an intuition: “next to the place of the recovery of the crop circle, there are some golf courses. Admitting that it's been a work of extraterrestrial nature, could it be that these aliens simply have answered to what they thought could be our message, if you see from above the holes and the paths of a golf course (besides, snake-shaped like the crop circle). If we calculate that the inhabitants of another planet probably don't know the "golf", and seeing such forms from above, they could think that those 18 holes are messages turned to them.”?
