July 5th 2003: Turbigo (Milan)

(We apologize for possible errors in the translation) The circle has been discovered July 13-14 th 2003, but it had been sighted some days before, so this pictogram can be probably dated around the first days of July, probably the 5th. It is a circle of around 26 meters, from which begin a sort of small arm that connects it to another circle around 16 meters in diameter, which in turn contains another circle of around 8 meters (the folded up ears are just along the 3 circumferences of the circles [NdR: grey zone in the sketch]). The wheat has been cut and unfortunately many plants have later grown over, but still are visible the folded up ears. The informations and the images that follow have been drawn out from the on-line magazine "Camelot Chronicles", and we thank Alessandro Luè and all the people quoted that took interest in this case. (http://www.camelotchronicles.com/Altro/turbigo1.htm) The first people to acknowledge the circle in the wheat of Turbigo (MI) have probably been two ladies that, on July 7 th 2003, were on board of an airplane landing to the airport of Malpensa: while approaching the runway, the two passengers have noticed two circles in the field that they were overflying. Once landed, the two women wanted to go looking for what they had seen from above: in the following days, therefore, they began searching for the strange sketch, asking information to the people of the place: nobody, however, knows about the strange formation. So we have to wait untill July 13 - 14 th 2003, when an agricultural worker, that works near the ownership of Mr. B., reaping the wheat he discovers the mysterious formation. It is composed by a circle with a diameter of around 26 meters, connected with a “arm” 9 meters long and to another circle of 16 meters of diameter, witch inside contain another circle of 8 meters diameter. Personally I was informed about the presence of the crop circle by the researcher Emiliano Rizzo (Camelot Group), on July 25 th 2003. A little of time has passed from the discovery of the crop circle, but considering that the preceding day (July 24 th 2003) the local magazine “Città Oggi” has published an article about this case, I immediately decide to go here. I succeed in finding the field: the wheat was cutted but, to a first examination from the edges of the field, nothing strange can be noticed. I decide then to continue on the road asking to the residents. I find a farmhouse where an agriculturist tells me not to know anything about it, but pushed by great curiosity, he offers to accompain me with his Jeep through the fields of the zone. We turn around in the fields, little roads, etc..., but no trace of the crop circle. Then he realize who could be the owner of the interested field, and together we direct there. Here we find Mr. B., that tells us that some days before in his field appeared a strange sketch made by folded ears. Mr. B. is sure it deals with a joke and he's furious because that thing have cause to him an economic damage. After the brief interview, and understands where the field is found, I leave the two kind agriculturists and I approach the field. Once there I reach the inside of the field and here I succeed in noticing the ears folded up to earth and to have a first view of the formation. I have to say that it was impossible to perceive, from the edges of the field, the ears folded up, because so much days had passed from when the wheat had been cut and already some grasses was grown over the place. Only in the proximities of the formation (situated practically inside the field) it was possible to notice the ears folded up to earth: the harvester, in fact, doesn't succeed in cutting the ears abandoned to earth. After my first investigation on he spot, the following day (Saturday July 26 th), Eugenio Ballini ("Arup" President and Member of the Camelot Group), Emiliano Rizzo (researcher and Member of the Camelot Group), Andrea Finessi (Professional Photographer) and me, we were again on the place for a detailed investigation. During our investigation, we meet a worker of that field, enough annoyed of the coming and going of curious people. He tells us to have found the sketch while he was cutting the wheat. Kindly he allows us to conduct our investigation, telling us that, when the wheat was not yet cut, formation appeared “beautiful as a postcard”. In his opinion it deals with something that is placed on the ground, landing over it. Both him and Mr. B. have not noticed anything strange in the days of the appearance of the crop circles, even if it is necessary to say that the field is away from the residence of Mr. B.
