“Great sensation has taken place in these days in Laterina, where have been recovered some mysterious "Crop Circles", in the night between the 6th and 7th of July, the same night of a strong storm.” Those are the first lines of a newspaper article (www.arezzonotizie.it) written by Marco Mazzeschi.The day after the event, the news had also reached the “Academic Group Ufologico Scandicci” (GAUS), that decided to make an investigation on the spot : ” We went on the place on June 9 in the first afternoon with a group of investigation formed by the Prof. Andrea Perego (nuclear physical and teacher of the faculty of physics of the university in Florence) Andrea Barucci (student in physics near the university in Florence and responile for the scientific section of GAUS) and with the Drs. Marina Menichelli, member of the same group. To arrive in the field of wheat where the pictogram has been made is not beein the simplest thing of the world, however we have succeeded in finding the place, thanks to our informers in the zone of Arezzo. The peculiar fact was that the farmer had ready a real reception for the curious ones, even with parking lot and a poster in which was written "ufo field", that pointed out the direction whether to proceed inside the field. At first sight the sketch appear to be realized in rather summary way, and in fact this is confirmed by the measures. The edges are not clean and the circles are nor circular but, on the contrary, something of very approximate with an error of 50-100 centimeters. The paths that connect the various smaller "sketches" show evident deviations from the rectilinear course (in the order of some about ten cm). Expecially one of them, fold violently to avoid a pipe of irrigation that sticks out from the ground. The ears result folded up to the ground in very approximate way and in many points have raised again. Also the interlacement to the ground si badly done, nothing to compare with the crop circle appeared in Cortona in 2003. First of all we have taken a certain number of measures (using a double taken decameter) and we have withdrawn the champions inside and outside the formation. We have effected besides the measure of the pH and radioactivity of the ground, and discoverd that it results normal. On the ears and on the champions of ground analyses are in progress. Nevertheless, to a first visual examination, they result normal, that is deprived of parasites or easy identifiable illnesses; naturally a lot of ears show the signs of the "gravitropismo" (the natural process by which the ears continue to grow orizontally even when folded) but this is entirely normal. We have spoken with various people of the zone and with the lady that lives in the house next to the field; the lady doesn't remember anything of detail except that the night in which the crop has appeared, the dogs have barked the whole night. The field in which the pictogram was found is crossed by a path that from a side it arrives to this house, and from the other to an excavated isolated road coasted along the river Arno. since the pictogram is found n the middle of the path, would have not been possible to reach and to leave the zone walking without leaving traces in the wheat. There is to notice the big number of curious that have visited the pictogram, both while we were there, and during the whole period in which the sketch was visible, that is up to when the farmer has decided to cut the wheat.” source: http://www.gaus.it Always thanks to arezzonotizie.it we ha ve to precise that: ” the field in matter is a barley filed and not wheat, and the sketch is 97 meters long; the diameter of central circle is about 25 meters, that on the right is 13 meters and those on the left are semicircles of same dimensions, both equidistant from the central circle and connected to it by a corridor around 3,5 meters wide, and 13 meters long. Other 3 smaller circles are instead vertically positioned, in direction of the Arno. Other curiosity is that the filmhorror.com, independent cinema productor, currently working to realize a documentary devoted to the Crop Circles recovered in Laterina and to the techniques of Circlemaking, turns an appeal to the authors of the circles. |
