(We apoligize for possible erors in he translation) May 22nd 2005, the Piedmontese daily paper “L'Eco del Ghisone", report a news about a new crop circle in Macello (near Turin). Follows the integral version of the published article (translated from Italian): "Created by unknown persons (ufo or jokers?) in the night of Saturday 21. Mysterious crop circle in Macello. The field, in region "Povertà", is150 meters away from the road next to the high voltage pylon. MACELLO - A great perfect circle, 20 exact meters of diameter, it is blunt suddenly in the meddle of a field of wheat, near Macello. They [the creators of the crop] have finally arrived also here in the "Pinerolese". The mysterious crop circles are classical of the ufology. Chronicles from the whole world, particularly from United States and Great Britain, more times, have reported, documented and sometimes trated ironically this phenomenon. What is appeared in the night between Saturday 21 and Sunday 22, to the center of a field of wheat (property of Michele Salvai), just few meters distance from an electric line pylon, is very mysterious and difficult to explain. “Surely Saturday afternoon the wheat was intact, Sunday morning, by chance, while I was widening the hay in the bordering lawn, I have noticed this big circle, formed by the crushed wheat, in rotatory sense - he explains the owner -. Neither us, neither the neighbors, Saturday night, we have seen or noticed strange movements or felt particular noises.” Do you have any idea on how could have created that circle? «Absolutely no. During the night, there has not been any storm, there was not even wind, and the wheat, except for the circle itself, is "perfect", there is not any sign of passage afoot or with machines». Michael Salvai, doesn't risk him over. The mystery of the circle however remains. Maybe everything derives from a fatiguing joke made by some jokers of the Saturday night, influenced even by the special effects of the television film, transmitted in week, really on the theme of the "corp circles". However, in this case, It is not explained as they have succeeded in not leaving traces around, nor is explained the reason why they choose that field, considering that it is far at least 150 meters from the nearest road. If Mr. Salavati had not gone to work in the adjacent field, nobody would have acknowledged the circle. A joke that risked not to be discovered therefore never. What sense would it have? Have the ufos arrived to Macello? Unusual and curious, then, the behavior of different visitors: some, reached the "circle", even have lain down on the folded up wheat, others have taken away some ears, some others have taken even clods of ground. Very various and discordant, as usual, the opinions among the people that have been on the place; it clearly does prevail the thesis of the joke, of the organized joke, but nobody has succeeded in explaining as they have materially succeeded in creating this circle without leaving visible traces (perhaps using some stilts?). Among the visitors, there have been also those that have taken the thing in serious consideration, for instance a very distinguished-looking lady accompanied by the chauffeur, that have asked Miss Salvai to point out the ground, declaring herself “very interested and not willing to joke on it.” Nobody has openly dared to declare believing in an "alien signal" or "alien visit", but more than one has thought it. And Michele Salvai, if he ever should find another "circle" in his wheat, probably he would hold the discovery by himself.
