May 19 th 2005, the site www.noitv.it (site of the local television and the information of Lucca), pointed out a new crop circle appeared between Tonfano and Pietrasanta. We quote their article. ” After the sketches appeared in St. Donato, the mysterious phenomenon is verified, in the night between Tuesday and Wednesday, also in some field in Tonfano.19/05/2005-The ears, also in this case, are not broken, on the contrary they are all folded up in precise directions. From aerial view the sketches doesn't seem to form particular geometric figures, but the residents affirm to never have seen anything similar, even in the most intense days of wind. Some days later has taken place an investigation on the spot by the "Emilia Romagna" section of the "ANSU" (National Association for the Study of Ufos), of which we quote an ample synthesis (integral verson is available on the site: www.ufoitalia.net. To see the complete synthesis and the photos we invite you to take a look to the PDF italian version of this document). In Pietrasanta (prov. of Lucca) two strange figures were formed in a barley cultivated field, adjacent the road. On the place was clearly visible the crushing of the ears to the ground and a sort of two indefinable and similar sketches; couldn't use a point of observation taller than a staircase, and been past by now some days in which people and bad weather had surely deformed the true figure, have however been picked up some samples and been documented some data. To a first look on the barley field, it would seem that the cause of the formation of these strange sketches is due to atmospheric conditions, rain and strong wind, but to a more careful analysis of the disposition of the ears (and to the nature of theirs folding to the ground) have been found some other anomalies that deserve a more careful evaluation. We imagine that the strength of the wind, applied on that specific zone of the ground, has pushed and then crushed to the ground the seedlings of bowline determining the strange present figure in the field. The movement that would have transformed the solicitation from vertical to horizontal should have been gradual and not violent, otherwise the stems and the ears would have been ruined; however at the same time the movement must also have been consistent, considering that has succeeded in compacting to the ground the stems in very evident way. Therefore the seedlings result horizontally abandon to the ground, folded up above the point in which the sod go out and on the knots with an angle of around 45°. Inside the two figures there was not any central spiral, neither vortexes that increase or get open; rather the conformation of the seedlings (in comparison to the ground) can be defined “radial”: they are just folded up to the ground and have not suffered any rotation. Departing from the center of the figure, the seedlings result line up one above the other, in North direction (strange particular) for then pointing in direct way toward the external edge. To their end, against the border of the figure, all around the stems are maintained erect in perfect conditions. Inside the figure, while the stems are almost all crushed strongly to earth, some don't seem to be interested in the phenomenon, and that demonstrate that the strength (or the strengths) that have induced the seedlings to the crushing to the ground, they are not so powerful to determined the demolition of all the seedlings in the interested zone. Near the edge of the road the disposition of the seedlings was very odd-looking, in fact some seedlings resulted squeezed to the ground but some in a direction and others in the opposite direction, giving the impression to have been “combed”. The borderline among the two teams of stems is very clean, there is not any gradualness during the inversion of the sense of direction. All the stems are strongly crushed to the base but they don't show breakup or damages. It's extremely difficult to rise up, without damage, a seedling laid down in this way. To imitate what is seen in this image it is almost impossible without ruining the stems. But the more interesting detail is in the knots of the stems, that were notably different from those picked up outside of the formation. From the picked samples and from the analyses, it is ascertained that the cellular knots of the seedlings (easily recognizable along the stems as small “knuckles”) they had widened, thickened in abnormal way; some of them resulted stringly lengthened and folded up in an angle of around 45°. To such intention just remember the discovery of the biophysicist William C. Levengood, regarding the swellings of the knots of the plants of cereals inside the formations. He hypothesizes that the swelling and extension of the cellular knots is caused by a microwaves radiation, that dilates the fluid content of the cells of the plant (cells that are in the knot) thanks to a thermal expansion. The cellular walls of the stems have viscous and elastic ownership at the same time, so that the knots maintain their dilated form and lengthened, also after their cooling. Actually, the origin of the microwaves radiation has not been identified yet, but Levengood hypothesizes that it could be related and connected to a “plasma energy”, referable to some atmospheric phenomenon still not known. |
