On June 6 are found again two circles in the wheat near Roddi. The edition online of the daily paper “La Stampa”, Cuneo edition, gives news of it the
same day:
With two great circles drawn one above the other in a field of wheat on the hill in front of Roddi, the suggestion of "Signs", the film with Mel Gibson,
is landed also in Roddi. No traces of feet or wheels, only the stems perfectly folded up to form the strange figure appeared last night and immediately
become destination of about dozens of curious searching for mysteries.

RODDI. Two circles connected by a line, the greatest with a ray of three meters. They have appeared Saturday in a field of wheat nearby Ravinale, on the hill in front of Roddi. The mysterious phenomenon - to form the sketch are the folded up ears along the ground - has made to circulate the voice that in Langa there are the famous «crop circles», the circles in the wheat made famous by the film «Signs» with Mel Gibson, appeared for the first time in England and, according to the ufo's researchers, attributable to the presence of magnetic fields created by extraterrestrial entity. The presumed «crop» of Roddi has been sighted Saturday morning by an agriculturist of the zone. The place in which circles have appeared seems to be not very away from the residences, the first houses are found to around 200 meters from the sketch. «We are activating to the pourpose of having news on the circles of Roddi - it comments Vladimiro Bibolotti, general secretary of the Ufologic Nationale Center (C.U.N.) that studies the phenomenons tied up to extraterrestrial presences. Unfortunately there are around many jokers that have a good time mystifying a fascinating and authentic phenomenon with rough imitations. That of Roddi could be an example of these 'jokes', also appeared in this period in other regions of Italy as Umbria and Marche». A «crop circle» has appeared last year, half of June, in a field of oat between Fossano and Salmour. The circles were very greater (one of 70 meters diameter that contained other five circles) so much that the sketch, sighted by a pilot of a glider, was only visible in aerial view. As last summer, the circles of Fossano and those of Roddi are destionation of curious and impassioned of the phenomenon.

Two great perfect circles inside a field of wheat: we are not reporting to the "incipit" of the film Signs with Mel Gibson, in which the actor was found to have to decode the signals of the aliens, but to the strange scenary in which have been found those people which have transited in Roddi, betweens Ravinali and Roccabella, last weekend. The unusual story of the crop circles starts at the end of the years '70 in southern England. Great, up to 30 meters or small as a wheel, these mysterious "sketches" appeared at night, and inside the ears were folded up to spiral and not broken. Innumerable are the attempts of explanation of the phenomenon and so many experts' teams that in the last 20 years have looked for a valid theory for these mysterious circles. Traces of the landing of alien spaceships, "signs of another dimension", "attempts of other entities to communicate with us", a simple joke or a real form of art, are the explanations that are been given.
The Italian Committee for the control of the affirmations on the paranormal (Cicap) in 1999 showed that it was possible for two people, armed with peg, rake and a rope, to realize in a field of wheat very complex figures (the operation is documented on the number of July 1999 of the periodic journal "Focus"). Nevertheless the debate, the diatribes and the theories on the matter continue... "
