June 19 th 2004, Fossano (Cuneo): found an interesting pictogram in the oat, that has made sensation among neophytes, curious ones, researchers and newspapers. Between the 23rd and 25th of June a lot of magazines and newspapers have devoted an article to this case. What follows is an article appeares on the national newspaper "La Stampa", on June 23th 2004. "THE FIRST ONES TO SEE THE GEOMETRIC FIGURE FROM AERIAL VIEW HAVE BEEN SOME PILOTS OF "ULTRA-LIGHT" AIRPLANES OF THE CLUB OF "PIANFEI". The inhabitants are sceptic about the "alien" circles. So many perplexities among the curious ones that are poured again in the field of oat along the provincial road toward Salmour, where mysterious sketches are appeared. The policemen: «For now there isn't any investigation, we just keep a check on the zone». FOSSANO - A great circle of the diameter of 70 meters that it contains other five circles; a geometric figure of considerable dimensions, that can bee seen, in its entirety, only from aereal view. It has appeared on a cultivated field along the provincial road Fossano-Salmour, between the tennis fields «Fruttero» and the old disused military house. [...] The sketch is made by the lowering of the ears of oat. To the center of the five circles there are perfect rounds, realized by the spiral refolding of the ears. The case is been noticed by some impassioned of flight of the aereal club of Pianfei, association «Alps of the sea». "I have seen Them Sunday overflying the zone - he explains the person responsible of the Center, Antonio Dalmasso -. With my airplane I have pushed myself over "Trinità" flying over the zone between Fossano and Salmour in proximity of the motorway viaduct. I have noticed immediatly the figure, because of its grandeur. Returning to the center I have conferred with the partners and results that another of us, on Saturday, had already seen it". The zone where the circles have appeared it is uninhabited for the ray of around a kilometer. On the border there is an unused military area. The signaling of the «crop circles» has also reached the policemen of the Company of Fossano that, after an investigation on the spot, has opened a cognitive investigation. The ground, cultivated in oat, it is a private property field («Management agricultural Castle of the Fog») with center in Villafalletto. «The owner of the farm actually has not stuck out report for damage - explains the commander of the Company lieutenant Carlo Emanuele Riccardi -. So we limit to keep a check on. If there will be a report, it could be open an investigation». The first outpost frequented by people in the zone, is the one with the tennis fields in direction of "Stura". «In these days none of us has noticed something of unusual - he explains the president Roberto Piacenza -. The fields, in summer, they actually stay open till midnight. Nobody has signalled shines in sky or strange noises, nor even flying disks». With the spreading of the news, many curious have arrived, few immediately prepared to believe from to the «Martian truth». Besides the sketch has been «polluted» because of the walking inside. Moreover, the first aviators that have sighted the phenomenon signal that Saturday, viewing it from hight (skyview), didn't result any path of access to the sketch, «as if someone had reached the site flying». Therefore an enough elaborate idea of this formation we already have it thanks to the numerous pages devoted by the press. Nevertheless many other close examinations have been effected, and we will give here news of the most remarkable. We start really from the special on the crop circles of the CICAP, that has studied this case for a long time. The Fossano crop circle has been examined by Francesco Grassi, for the CICAP. Firstly we learn that the pictogram was not composed by absolutely perfect circles: the edges of the circles showed numerous flaws (or imperfections) and the whole formation was full of broken stems that have been photographed and withdrawn. The broken section resulted completely made yellow, practically shoal, contrarily of the green stem, and this is an evident sign of the past time beginning from the trauma of the stem. The broken stems appeared on the whole surface of the formation, practically anywhere. The leveling has not surely been caused by bad weather, wind, rain or hail, and formation shows an evident geometry; the conclusion is that it deals with a human work, missing any element that could make us to suppose another origin. It is not probable that the authors of the sketch will make public their identities; who has done the formation, in fact, risks to be pursued for law because has caused a damage to the owner of the field. This is one of the reasons for which who realizes a formation doesn't reveal to be its author (or craftsman), besides the fact that to reveal the paternity makes to lose the whole mystery and the charm of which a formation lives. By the truth, to this intention, the history of the corp circles has also shown us some paradoxes: in some cases the authors have declared the paternity, but the "experienced" that were by now unbalanced in the certification of the authenticity, they have succeeded in becoming convinced themselves and to convince the gullible ones, that the real authors were lying. Formation shows a perfect vertical symmetry, and is directed along the axle North-South: the compass that has noticed the alignment has not shown alterations. The photographic cameras and the digital videocamera have correctly worked, and so the mobile phones. Trying to crush (with a foot) the ears of the same field in other external points to the most greater circle, the realized trace it is indistinguishable from the one that constitutes the sketch: the ears don't break but, because of their damp, they fold up maintaining the horizontal position. It is possible to raise again them up (to correct possible errors) and these again assume the erect position without leaving sign of the preceding fold. The conflicting directions deny the article appeared on "La Stampa" in which t is affirmed that "along the layout of the sketch the stems of oat are folded up all in the same direction and to the same height."
